This release contains a number of improvements and bug fixes.
First, I finally added direction indicators to the route line. This was very long overdue but always something that was trickier than it seemed and needed to done 3x across all three map providers. (Apple, Google and Mapbox) These days, with the help of AI, it was still some work but I left the tricky parts to Claude.
Next, when following along on your Apple Watch, EasyRoute uses an actual Apple Map instead of just having you follow the route shape on a black background. Don’t worry, if your watch has no network connection and you don’t have your phone, you won’t get a base map, but you’ll still be able to follow the path on a blank background as you have before.
Finally, there were a number of bugs that were either reported to me or I noticed myself that have been fixed.
